The ancestor René Mailhot said " Laviolette " was the son of René and Jeanne - Catherine Berger Castelarroy (today Castet-Arrouy)
in Gascogne (France) arrived at the country towards 1670, he made left themilitia a little while. In 1671 he got married with Marie Chapacou.
The children of René and Marie were baptized alternately to Grondines, to Cap-Santé, and to Point-aux Trembles of
Quebec ( Neuville) between 1675 and 1695.
The descent of René Mailhot and Marie Chapacou is scattered in the four
corners of Quebec, with a strong concentration in Montreal. The regions of Mauricie, Bois-francs, and Quebec received the
inheritance of most of the other children.
